“A New Era of Wellness”
From the Fall 2013 edition of The Bullseye --A publication of the UNO Division of Student Affairs
On August 20th the Counseling Center moved from the Eppley Administration Building to the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Building marking a new era in wellness on UNO’s campus. With the move, the HPER building became the new Wellness Center: a place where Counseling, Health Services, and Campus Recreation are available under one roof.
“It’s a transition that we were all extremely excited about,” said Joe Kaminski, the new Senior Director for Wellness.
“All three departments have always worked closely together, but this provides a great opportunity to cater to UNO students and the community by offering services and programs in all aspects of wellness in a central setting.”
The Counseling and Health Services are now located in room 102 of the HPER building, and Campus Recreation is in rooms 104 and 204.
The new Wellness Center also created “wellness indicators” to help students identify aspects of wellness that you should be familiar with: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual wellness. keep an eye out for these wellness indicators around campus to make sure you’re living a well-rounded college life.
