Biography
Ramazan Kılınç is a Professor and Graduate Program Chair in the Department of Political Science and Director of Islamic Studies Program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He teaches courses on comparative politics and international relations of the Middle East. He received his Ph.D. (2008) from Arizona State University and M.A. (2001) and B.A. (1999) from Bilkent University, Turkey. He previously taught in James Madison College at Michigan State University. His most recent articles appeared in Comparative Politics, Political Science Quarterly, Politics and Religion, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, Religion State & Society, and Turkish Studies. His is the author of Alien Citizens: The State and Religious Minorities in Turkey and France (Cambridge University Press, 2019). With Carolyn Warner, Christopher Hale and Adam Cohen, he co-authored Generating Generosity in Catholicism and Islam: Beliefs, Institutions and Public Goods Provision (Cambridge University Press, 2018). He is the recipient of 2021 NU Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award, 2021 UNO College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Research and Creative Activity Award, 2020 UNO Excellence in Teaching Award, 2018 UNO Alumni Teaching Award, the 2012 Weber Paper Award of American Political Science Association, and a co-recipient of the 2013 Sage Paper Award of the American Political Science Association.
