Biography
Amy Morris is a professor of Art History and the Director of the School of the Arts at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a leadership faculty fellow in Academic Affairs for the 2023-24 academic year.
A Northern Renaissance Art Historian, Amy Morris has published on Magdalene iconography, artistic self-awareness, and indulgence art and currently has a book contract with Routledge for a Renaissance companion. Amy’s research has expanded to encompass curation and instructional design. A member of the Samuel Bak Museum: The Learning Center Advisory Board she helped coordinate the inaugural Bak exhibition and contributed to its catalog. Reflecting decades of teaching she created an online study guide for a leading publisher, an Open Education Resource, and many online courses.
Amy has been active in the Medical Humanities program as Research Coordinator and as a participant in the IHAPAE project. As Director of the School of the Arts she has transitioned into administration. Recently, Amy assumed a leadership role in her profession was selected as President of the Midwest Art History Society.
