Faculty Conflict Resolution Resources
Conflicts may occasionally arise in the course of professional duties, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is committed to supporting faculty in resolving these issues. To assist in navigating these challenges, UNO provides a range of conflict resolution resources. Whether the situation involves interpersonal disputes, misunderstandings, or workplace concerns, faculty have access to offices and services designed to facilitate fair and effective resolution.
Conflict Resolution Resources:
- Ombudsperson: Resource for UNO students, faculty, and staff members who seek informal, confidential, impartial assistance with conflict resolution and problem-solving
- Department Chairs/School Directors: Unit-specific concerns
- College Deans: College-specific concerns
- Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs: Academic or faculty-related HR Concerns
- Faculty Senate President: General faculty concerns
- Faculty Senate Academic Freedom and Tenure Committee: Conflicts involving allegations that an action taken, or threatened, violates ones academic freedom or academic tenure
- Faculty Senate Professional Conduct Committee: Conflicts involving a member of the professional staff or professional or scientific misconduct
- AAUP Grievance Officer: Collective bargaining agreement; concerns related to terms and conditions of employment
- Research Integrity Officer: Concerns related to research integrity
- Human Resources Employee Relations: Concerns about staff should be addressed with the department chair or director; department chairs or directors may contact HR
