This key role will lead visioning, strategic planning, and implementation efforts for campus international activities and initiatives, expanding the future of Global Engagement at UNO.
The AVCGE will have the unique opportunity to lead the development of a bold, entrepreneurial, and comprehensive strategic plan focusing on growing international student recruitment and enrollment. Working closely with Senior Leadership on campus, the AVCGE will intentionally link enrollment and recruitment with global partnerships, engagement, and academic programming while strengthening connections across campus. The next AVCGE is expected to have considerable cross-cultural and international travel experience.
The search committee is chaired by Neal Grandgenett, Dean of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Grandgenett, a proud alum of UNO, brings a wealth of knowledge and significant contributions that align with UNO’s mission.
“We are excited to launch the search for a visionary leader, who will work collaboratively with the campus to elevate UNO’s global presence,” said Phil He, Ph.D., Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. “The next Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement will be instrumental in leading efforts that strengthen our international reputation and ensure that our students, faculty, and staff have access to transformative international experiences.”
The search committee consists of faculty, staff, and academic leaders, who contribute a distinct range of expertise and perspectives. The complete list of search committee members can be found on the AVCGE Search webpage, which also includes information about the search, the Leadership Profile, and links to apply or nominate a prospective applicant. The review of applications will begin in January.
