Dr. Todd Leif First Haddix Teacher-In-Residence
The UNO STEM TRAIL Center welcomes Dr. Todd Leif as its first Haddix Teacher-In-Residence. Dr. Leif is a chemistry and physics teacher at Bennington High School and earned his Ph.D. in physics education from Kansas State University. Before joining Bennington, Dr. Leif was a physics instructor at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, KS and a physical science teacher at Hastings High School in Hastings, NE.
The Haddix Physical Science Teacher-in-Residence Fellowship is awarded to an Omaha metropolitan area high school chemistry or physics teacher for up to 2 years. During this fellowship, the Teacher-in-Residence will learn how to build a community of practice among their current and future peers, serve as a leader in their community, and diffuse high-impact teaching practices in chemistry and physics throughout the network of metropolitan-area physical science pre-service and in-service teachers. Dr. Leif has extensive experience building communities of practice through the American Association of Physics Teachers, and will use that experience to build an active community of physical science high school teachers in the Omaha metropolitan area.
For more information about joining this emerging community of practice, contact Dr. Leif at tleif@bennps.org.
