Campus Career Council
The purpose of the Campus Career Council is to bring together UNO faculty and staff for networking, professional development, and collaboration on all topics related to students’ professional development.
The Council meets monthly to provide professional development, share updates, and discuss best practices.
Handshake
All UNO faculty and staff have access to a free Handshake account to access resources and learn more about employment opportunities and events for students.
Guidance for Connecting Students and Employers
Faculty and staff may play a role in helping students and employers connect during the job search process. In this role, it is important to comply with labor laws related to equal employment opportunity and help UNO maintain a recruiting environment that if fair to all students and employers.
- Follow FERPA regulations concerning students’ rights to privacy. Do not provide student names to employers as referrals.
- Recommend Handshake (unomaha.joinhandshake.com) to employers to maintain a fair and equitable recruiting process.
- Check with UNO Career Services before helping an employer connect with students or conduct on-campus interviews.
- Avoid participating in the selection process for interviews or job offers to maintain a fair and equitable recruiting process.
