The Graduate Project
The graduate project in the MA CCT allows students to demonstrate their ability to solve a complex problem or tackle a multi-faceted issue using research and methods gained in the program. Students design their own unique projects under the guidance of a primary graduate project advisor.

Using Watershed Boundaries to Map Increased Incidence Rate of Parkinson’s Disease in Nebraska

“My project was completed in the College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Using data from the Nebraska Parkinson's Registry I was able to map the incidence rate of Parkinson's Disease in the state of Nebraska using watershed boundaries.” Nancy A. Exploring Universality in Mohsin Hamid's Exit West: An Interdisciplinary Study Through Creative Nonfiction, Psychology, and Memory Studies

“This experimental project explores Hamid's novelistic theme of universality by studying the main characters' romance in traditional literary criticism in tandem with interludes of creative nonfiction flash essays following the author's own failed relationship, in order to demonstrate how the immigrant experience is universal.” Bonnie Martin, Writing and Critical Reflection concentration
