UNO explorers leave their mark in the sand
The annual geology field trip this year was 10 days of exploring the geology of Colorado. Four Geology faculty took 19 majors to hone observation and interpretation skills and to participate in intensive hands-on learning of geology. This picture, taken by Dr. Harmon Maher, is from a visit to Great Sand Dunes National Park. "12 students and two faculty made it all the way to the top of the highest dune, and lacking a UNO flag, decided to stake our claim of the peak in their own way," writes Robert Shuster, Geography/Geology Chair. "It turns out that UNL's geoscience field trip was due out there the next day. We hope they saw our mark!"
