Geology faculty participated in a "hands-on" event at the Sapp Fieldhouse as part of the annual celebration of the Lights On After School. Over 1,000 pre-school – elementary school age children attended.
Chancellor Christensen opened the event, hosted by Collective for Youth (CFY), Omaha’s intermediary organization promoting out-of-school time programming across the Metro. Attendees enjoyed lunch, hands on activities, community exhibits, parent activities, and performances by local talent and youth from various afterschool programs in the community.
Lights On Afterschool is a nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their role in keeping kids safe, inspiring them to learn and helping working families. This year more than 1 million Americans celebrated at more than 8,000 events.
