Katie Berger joined the MACCT office as the new advisor/coordinator in May 2020.

Katie Berger joined the MACCT office as the new advisor/coordinator in May of 2020. Previously, Katie worked at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, where she served as a success coach in Project HELP, a federal grant program that assists income-eligible students achieve their healthcare career and education goals.
Prior to Project HELP, Katie worked in Northeast’s Public Relations department, where she created articles, press releases, newsletters, and photography. She has also worked as a freelance copywriter, writing tutor, and teacher in an after-school program.
Katie is a 2006 graduate of UNO (BFA, Creative Writing), and also earned UNO’s Graduate Advanced Writing certificate in 2008. In 2014, she completed an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama, where she taught English Composition and Creative Writing courses.
In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry (she has published two chapbooks), taking photographs, and binge-watching every Star Trek series.
She has loved working with the MACCT’s prospective and current students as well as developing projects like the MACCT newsletter. Welcome, Katie!
