Biography
Dr. Jasney Cogua-Lopez is an OLLAS part-time lecturer whose research interests include Latin American migration, gender studies, and intragroup Latino relations. Throughout her career, she has participated in multiple research projects on immigrant incorporation, community knowledge and attitudes toward refugees and asylees, immigrant participation and civic engagement, South American migration, the migration industry and others. Additionally, she has worked in federally funded Dependency Court, Adult Drug Court and Mental Health Jail Diversion research and evaluation projects. She teaches OLLAS courses including Introduction to Chicano/Latino Studies: Social Sciences, Latin America Today (Introduction to Latino/Latin American Studies), and Latinos & Gender.
