Teaching Interests
Dr. White currently teaches Business Forecasting (BSAD 8080/ECON 8310), Tools for Data Analysis (ECON 8320), Sports Economics (ECON 3190), and Labor Economics (ECON 4240/8246). He has previously taught Principles of Microeconomics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence and Reporting, and summer camps in math and statistics.
Research Interests
Current research by Dr. White is focused on the strategic choices of athletes in competition, game theoretic modeling of great power conflicts, and the ability of firms to generate increased profits by increasing the number of firms in their market. Dr. White is also passionate about utilizing big data, and works to incorporate statistical learning methods into his work in Economics.

Bio
Dr. White is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. His primary focuses are Health and Labor Economics, Sports Economics and Industrial Organization, as well as Data Analytics in general. Dr. White earned his PhD in Economics from Washington State University (2016), and his BA in Economics from Brigham Young University (2011). As of Fall 2016, Dr. White will teach Data Analytics and Principles of Microeconomics at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Some of his other professional interests are Machine Learning and Data Analysis as well as finding ways to help students stay engaged in the learning process by incorporating projects from sports and other areas of popular interest into his courses.
