Alfred G. Thomsen - Inducted in 1998
A native Nebraskan, Alfred Thomsen attended Central Park Grade School and North High School before attending Omaha University. He graduated with a major in business administration and a Certificate in Real Estate in 1957. During his senior year, Thomsen began working for the Walter C. Johnson Company, which specialized in real estate and building management. |
Thomsen went on to positions at the Byron Reed Company and Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. In 1969, he formed the Alfred G. Thomsen Company, where he remains as president and treasurer. His company specializes in real estate management, sales, development, leasing and consulting.
He also is chairman of the board for Building Energy Management, a division of his company, and president of Beval Corporation. Thomsen serves on the board of directors at Immanuel Medical Center, and many of its subsidiaries.
He has been as chairman of the board for the Nebraska Food Bank Network, chairman of the Omaha Public Power District Citizens Advisory Committee and a trustee of the Western Heritage Museum. Thomsen has served UNO as president of the Alumni Association, a member of the Chancellor's Advisory Council and Chancellor's Club and a trustee of the Nebraska Foundation.
