James Young - Inducted in 2006
James Young, who today serves as the president and chief executive officer of Union Pacific Corporation, began his railroad career with Union Pacific in 1978, the year he graduated from UNO. In the time since, he has held a variety of professional, managerial and senior management positions including executive vice president of finance and chief financial officer. |
He was elected a director of Union Pacific Corporation in 2005. He also serves on the boards of Creighton University, Joslyn Art Museum, Grupo Ferroviario Mexicano and the Association of American Railroads.
He has served as an area chairman of the United Way of the Midlands campaign cabinet and on the boards of Girls Inc. and the Nebraska Council on Economic Education.
