Ilze Zigurs - Inducted in 2004
Prior to her appointment at UNO in 2001, Ilze Zigurs taught at the University of Colorado for 13 years. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, her MBA from UNO and BA from the University of Washington. Professor Zigurs serves as editor-in-chief for the e-Service Journal, is on the editorial board of Information and Organization, and formerly served as senior editor of MIS Quarterly and department editor of the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. |
She has published articles on the design and impact of groupware and she continues to do research on virtual teams and project management. She is co-editor with Laku Chidambaram of Our Virtual World, a book that examines both positive and negative impacts of the Internet on individuals, organizations and society in their work and personal lives.
Professor Zigurs is the director of the Ph.D. program in Information Technology, a new program that admitted its first class of students in Fall 2003.
She also serves as a member of the statewide EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) committee.
