Business Economics
Business economics is a field in applied economics that uses economic theory and quantitative methods to analyze business decisions. It is an applied science in that trained business economists to use tools-of-the-trade to aid companies and other organizations in the development of strategies to grow and prosper in a market-oriented economy. Issues and problems include decisions to expand into new markets and new countries; decisions regarding contracting versus vertical integration; the role of entrepreneurs in growth and development; and the inter-relationship between management and employees, providers of capital, customers, and government. With a concentration in business economics, you will gain the skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to any firm, nonprofit group, or governmental organization.
