Dr. Carrie Hoarty is an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She attained her BS from Marquette University and MD from the UNMC. She trained in a joint Pediatrics and Internal Medicine residency program at UNMC, where she subsequently completed her Geriatric fellowship. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Geriatrics. Dr. Hoarty is the Medical Director of the Midtown Internal Medicine residency continuity clinic at UNMC. She enjoys caring for all adult patients but especially older individuals with geriatric syndromes and those with special developmental needs. She is a clinician educator, caring for her continuity patients at UNMC’s Durham Outpatient Clinic. Dr. Hoarty enjoys working with medical students, teaching communication skills, as well as Internal Medicine residents, as they learn the art and science of caring for their own patients independently. Prior to joining UNMC, Dr. Hoarty practiced Internal Medicine at Boys Town National Research Hospital, then served as Medical Director of Student Health, Education and Compliance at Creighton University while caring for patients at a Catholic Health Initiatives clinic. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband and children, playing and watching sports, travelling, gardening, and reading.
