UNO CBA senior Mandi Backhaus has become Omaha’s second ever Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Foundation scholarship recipient. Backhaus is one of only 20 women to receive the $5,000 scholarship this year, which selects female students poised to become leaders in commercial real estate.

The Finance and Banking concentrations offer a broad business background in combination with the study of practical financial knowledge mandatory for success in this dynamic profession.

In April, UNO’s real estate program achieved renewal of its original 2016 certification by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB), which allows graduates to apply a majority of their coursework towards the hours required to receive real property appraiser licensure. This certification is a career-boosting benefit for UNO CBA real estate students, accelerating their ability to break into the appraisal profession.
