Hollis and Helen Baright Foundation - Inducted in 2003
Hollis Baright was a successful Omaha real estate entrepreneur and stock market investor. Despite his achievements, Hollis and Helen, his wife of 50 years, had little interest in material displays and maintained a simple lifestyle as reflected by Hollis' often-spoken words, "Never been better, never had less."
Helen passed away in 1982 at the age of 77; Hollis in 1989 at 89. The foundation they created has sponsored community projects that include The Baright Museum Store at the Strategic Air Command Museum, Baright Visitor Center at the Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park, video cameras for the Omaha Police Department, Baright Home and Family Gallery in the Durham Museum, Baright Namib Desert Exhibit in the Henry Doorly Zoo's Desert Dome, and the Baright Public Library in Ralston, Nebraska.
The Hollis and Helen Baright Foundation funds an annual scholarship for the University of Nebraska at Omaha real estate program. In 2003, the foundation established an endowment of the Baright Professorship of Real Estate Studies.
