Nebraska Bankers Association - Inducted in 2000
The Nebraska Bankers Association (NBA) is a statewide trade association representing 277 of Nebraska's 279 commercial banks and eight of the 17 savings and loan institutions in the state.
The association constantly monitors the banking scene, watchful for new ideas and approaches to help Nebraska's financial institutions respond to an ever-changing environment.
NBA strives to anticipate and respond quickly to events that have an impact on its member institutions. Priorities include legislative representation, education, industry promotion and public relations, cost-saving products and services, and an array of other services designed to meet the needs of Nebraska's banks and savings and loan institutions.
The NBA's priorities have also included the College of Business. For many years, the association has been instrumental in supporting CBA — perhaps most notably in the area of information technology.
In 2000, the association provided a generous grant to allow the college to upgrade one of its two NBA computer labs with an overhead projector, modular furniture and fresh paint.
Previously, NBA helped the college outfit another lab with new computers, big-screen monitors and enhanced lighting.
