OMAHA – With a May 2017 graduation date approaching, Chase Stuhr is embracing the 40-hour workweek this summer as a mid-market sales intern at Yahoo.
However, he’s no stranger to hard work. This senior studying marketing and management works as a peer advisor and marketing intern for the UNO College of Business Administration during the school year, all while balancing a full-time course load and extracurriculars.
Stuhr — who’s from Grand Island, Nebraska — shares more about his summer activities and career aspirations below.
What are your job duties at Yahoo?
I search for prospective digital advertising clients, gather their information, and give the lead to a sales person.
What do you enjoy about your job?
The people at Yahoo are one-of-a-kind. The Yahoo culture promotes friendliness, and this is evident from my experiences.
How does your job relate to your coursework in CBA?
I get the opportunity to practice the sales process. I also get to think strategically about customers’ digital advertising goals and help meet them.
What are your career goals? How is CBA helping you achieve them?
I would love to work in the sales or marketing department of a Fortune 500 company. The courses at CBA prepare me for the corporate world, and the professors provide valuable industry experience.
What are you doing for fun this summer?
I like to explore the state and national parks of the Midwest. I have a couple parks I would like to check off my list this summer.
