CBA Student Spotlight: Grace Manthey

OMAHA – One year ago, Grace Manthey was uncertain about her future.

“I knew I wanted to study business but wasn’t sure about anything else,” she says.

Real estate had always intrigued her, so she sought out an internship to not only build her resume but also find some clarity.

Soon after, Manthey began an internship at Omaha-based real estate company TitleCore National. She quickly worked her way from summer intern to part-time employee.

Now, the Omaha native works as a full-time transaction administrator.

This UNO College of Business Administration senior shares more about her job and career goals after she graduates this December.

What are your job duties?

I handle recordings, enter orders and assist in accounting.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy working with employees who are so passionate about their careers. It's inspiring.

How does your job relate to your coursework in CBA?

When I began at TitleCore National, I didn't know what a closing company even was. What I learn from my coursework, I can apply to my job. What I learn on the job, I can apply to my coursework.

What are your career goals? How is CBA helping you achieve them?

My concentrations are real estate and management. My dream job would be a career that combined the two. My real estate professors truly immerse the students in the field. In my classes, I toured Aksarben, attended an open house and heard from multiple guest speakers in different fields.

What are you doing for fun this summer?

This summer/fall I am looking at buying my first home, and I know a pretty rad real estate company and title company who can assist me with it.
