CBA Welcomes New Faculty
Meet the College of Business Administration’s newest hires.
The UNO College of Business Administration has hired three new faculty members — two in accounting and one in marketing — and one staff member in the Nebraska Business Development Center. Learn a little about them below.
Megan Harris
Department of Accounting
Megan Harris is an accounting instructor and certified public accountant. She is a member of the Nebraska Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
Before entering academia, she worked in public accounting at KPMG and private accounting in a variety of industries, including financial services, nonprofits and healthcare.
Harris enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Jung Eun Park
Department of Accounting
Jung Eun Park, JP for short, is an assistant professor of accounting. She earned a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, a master’s from Florida State University and a bachelor’s from Catholic University of Korea. She worked for PolyMirae Co. Ltd. for several years before going to graduate school.
Her research interests include financial reporting quality, securities regulation, initial public offerings, auditing and audit specialization. Her teaching interests include financial accounting, cost accounting and auditing.
From Seoul, South Korea, JP enjoys cooking Korean food.
Pinar Runnalls
Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship
Pinar Runnalls is a visiting assistant professor of marketing. She received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Her research interests lie in the areas of marketing strategy, international marketing and marketing management.
Her teaching experience includes courses in international marketing, international business, principles of marketing, consumer behavior, quantitative business methods and business ethics. Runnalls has a profound love for animals and enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Bones.
Carlie Shafroth
Nebraska Business Development Center
Carlie Duncan Shafroth is a government contracting consultant at the Nebraska Business Development Center, serving north Douglas County as well as Dodge, Saunders and Washington counties.
Shafroth holds a degree in international studies with a concentration in global political economy from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Currently, she is obtaining her Master of Business Administration from UNO.
She previously coordinated community partnerships in the office of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, where she helped facilitate and encourage collaborative relationships with local government, nonprofit agencies, foundations, businesses and service providers. She also worked as a development coordinator for a nonprofit focused on promoting the arts and economic development across the Americas.
Shafroth is passionate about connecting small businesses to government agencies and ultimately growth opportunities in the state of Nebraska.
