The UNO College of Business Administration’s (CBA) Supply Chain Management Graduate Program was recently named the No. 30 program in North America and “One to Watch” by Gartner, a global research and advisory firm. The CBA offers a Graduate Certificate and Concentration in Supply Chain Management as part of the MBA program. In addition, the Nebraska Business Development Center within the CBA offers a Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Management.
UNO ranks among universities including University of Houston, Purdue, and Pennsylvania State for top 30 programs. CBA’s Supply Chain Management Certificate was recognized for featuring global content and applied knowledge projects. The key player in enabling the Supply Chain Management program’s success has been Dr. Steve Schulz, associate professor of Supply Chain Management.
Schulz was brought to UNO to establish the Supply Chain Management program six years ago. He was instrumental in developing new courses, establishing industry partnerships, recruiting faculty, and attracting students. The initiatives headed by Schulz have enabled the program to reach the success it has today.
“Since 2015, we have established both a Concentration in Supply Chain Management as part of the MBA program, and a stand-alone Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management at UNO,” said Schulz. “The Gartner ranking of programs to watch adds tremendous credibility to the quality of our program for graduate students seeking to reach the next level of their careers. We have been included with Universities considered to be the leaders in our field of study.”
The Supply Chain Management program at UNO emphasizes a curriculum that addresses the concerns of modern students, businesses, and supply chain leaders. The program is also bolstered by the Industry Advisory Board in Supply Chain Management, whose members provide ongoing insights into the core competencies needed for the next generation of leaders in their organizations.
“We earned this recognition through the establishment of a curriculum that is relevant for graduates in the workplace of the 21st Century,” said Schulz. “Advances in technology, global markets, and sustainable business practices are creating new opportunities for graduates with the skills needed to be successful leaders in the future.”
