Occidental CEO speaks at CEO Dinner to benefit CBA scholarships
“Vicki Hollub went from engineering student to oil rigs to the C-suite as President and CEO of an energy company whose stock performance led the S&P 500 in 2022,” said Michelle W. Trawick, John Becker Dean of the UNO College of Business Administration. “When we tell our UNO students that they can break glass ceilings, we can point to Ms. Hollub, who has proven that through hard work and leadership, the C-Suite of a major corporation is within reach.”

Omaha, NE – Vicki Hollub, President and CEO of Occidental, will speak at the Omaha CEO Dinner on May 5, where net proceeds benefit the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration scholarships.
Hollub has served as the President and CEO of Occidental since 2016, making her the first woman to head a major American oil and gas company. Berkshire Hathaway is a significant shareholder of Occidental, holding about 23 % of their stock.
The funds raised from the dinner will go to the Dean Emeritus Louis Pol scholarship fund for students experiencing financial need. Pol served as dean of the CBA from 2004 to 2019. He was instrumental in creating the Genius of Warren Buffett course taught by Buffett author Robert P. Miles.
“Dean Emeritus Pol’s leadership was, quite simply, transformational. He and colleagues developed innovative programs that continue to set UNO’s CBA apart from other business schools. He also led conversations with Carl Mammel resulting in our state-of-the-art facility, Mammel Hall, which thousands of students know as their business school home. This scholarship is just one more way to ensure his impact lives on,” Trawick said.
Individual tickets to the event cost $150. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the UNO Scott Conference Center.
The event offers participants, many of whom are lifelong learners from around the globe, a deeper understanding of Warren Buffett’s investment principles and a closer look into Berkshire Hathaway companies.
