11 School of Accounting Students Awarded NESCPA Scholarships
11 School of Accounting students in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha recently received scholarships from the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants (NESCPA).

11 School of Accounting students in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha recently received scholarships from the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants (NESCPA).
$1000 Accounting Scholarships were awarded to seniors Emma Daniels, Keegan Kenney, Andrew Wells, Daniel Guenther, and grad student Braden Myers. The D. Blackman Pipeline Scholarships were awarded to seniors Meagan Dauel and McKayla Most. Senior Nicole Stubbendick received the Tricia K. Riggins Pipeline Scholarship, and the 150-hour Scholarship was given to grad students Colin Goracke and Quentin Thede.
Dr. Susan Eldridge, the Associate Dean for Faculty, Research and Planning in the College of Business Administration was also honored at the event. She was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award. Dr. Eldridge served as Director of UNO's School of Accounting from 2009 through 2021. She has 20+ years in academia focused on mission-driven and career-readiness strategic initiatives that integrate academic perspectives, practical applications, and collaborative partnerships. Dr. Eldridge is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in N.C.) and is a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of CPAs, Financial Executives International, and the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance. Before entering academe, she was in public accounting and was a controller in the construction industry.
Max Tomes, a graduate student, received the $3,000 Outstanding Accounting Educator Award Scholarship in Honor of Dr. Susan Eldridge.
The NESCPA is the only statewide organization in Nebraska dedicated to the professional advancement of CPAs. Their mission is to enhance the professional success of the members; to encourage the maintenance of high professional standards; to facilitate relationships among the members; to further the professional knowledge, competence, and performance of the members; to promote a better understanding of services rendered by members; to promote the accounting profession; and to act in a representative capacity for the profession.
