The Fall case study centered around the company, Right at Home. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Right at Home is an at-home care company providing numerous health and companion services to seniors. Right at Home has over 600 franchises in America and across the globe with 430,000 plus hours of care being provided by caregivers per week. Services range from helping a senior fold their laundry to administering hospice care and everything in between. While Right at Home has seen growth year-over-year, they are facing the challenges of recruiting and retaining caregivers and franchisees becoming complacent. In addition, the at-home care market is highly crowded and receives very little funding from the government. Consulting teams in the Capstone Cup have been tasked with developing a strategic recommendation for Right at Home as it works to achieve its goals for future growth.
The UNO CBA Capstone Cup is a mandatory semester-long competition for all graduating seniors and is a unique critical thinking opportunity unequaled by other area business colleges.
More than 300 students each year take part in the challenge, where they are asked to evaluate a complex business situation, develop a creative solution, and build a presentation that communicates their analyses to a panel of judges.
The competition challenges students to think critically surrounding strategic issues they will encounter in their careers. It demands direct application of their entire undergraduate business curriculum, allowing students to explore real-world uses of what they’ve learned.
