CBA Faculty Member Elected Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute
Dr. Mary Hallin, a Lecturer in the Marketing & Entrepreneurship department in the UNO College of Business Administration, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute in the United Kingdom.
Mammel Hall – Dr. Mary Hallin, a Lecturer in the Marketing & Entrepreneurship department in the UNO College of Business Administration, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute in the United Kingdom.
The Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland (RAI) is the world's longest-established scholarly association dedicated to the furtherance of anthropology (the study of humankind) in its broadest and most inclusive sense.
“This recognition is a testament to her outstanding contributions and dedication to the field of anthropology. Her work continues to inspire and impact many in the academic community and beyond,” said Dr. Phani Tej Adidam, Professor and Chair of the Marketing & Entrepreneurship Department.
Dr. Hallin received her MBA from California State University-Northridge with a concentration in Marketing. She earned her Ph.D. in Geography with a Specialization in Anthropology: Indigenous Peoples, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has been at UNO CBA since 2006. Dr. Hallin is also a Board Member for the Teaching Anthropology Network (TAN) and is Chair of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES) Commission on Documentation. Dr. Hallin organizes international panels and presents on topics such as on teaching across cultures, global knowledge exchange, and building trust with local communities to address health emergencies.
