Allyson Gibbs is as an Instructor of Graphic Design. With a diverse range of professional experiences, she is eager to share her expertise with students.
Allyson believes that a successful graphic design practice is built on formal exercises, visual research, experimentation, and practical problem-solving. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes fostering critical thinking and promoting independent learning, with the goal of nurturing a dynamic local community of design-savvy individuals.
A native of Omaha and a proud UNO alumna, Allyson holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a focus on painting and printmaking.
She went on to earn an M.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where she spent a summer studying with designers and typographers at the Basel School for Design.
