Biography
Dr. Katrina Cox began her career as the Director of Choral Activities and Drama at Centralia High School in Southern Illinois. Over the past decade, she has directed and served as a clinician for a variety of community, church, and children’s choirs. Her research interests center on conductor and teacher expertise, effective use of teacher verbalizations, and how specific teaching strategies impact student performance outcomes. She has presented at numerous regional, state, and national conferences focused on teaching and education research.
As a faculty member at UNO, Cox teaches undergraduate and graduate music education courses, directs a section of the University Choir, and serves as faculty advisor for the UNO student chapter of NAfME.
