Below are some of the partnerships between Art & Art History and our local community.
Gallery 1516
We are proud to welcome Gallery 1516 as an official partner to the UNO School of the Arts.
Gallery 1516 is a venue for Nebraska and regional artists’ exhibitions which also supports the arts through fund-raising, community engagement, and encouraging young people to appreciate art’s role in society.
Talk to your professors about opportunities for paid internships and hands-on experiences at Gallery 1516; these positions are nominated, so notify faculty of your interest ahead of time.
Friends of Art
Friends of Art is an organization of like-minded artists, patrons, and community members who come together to support Art & Art History. They focus their efforts on community efforts and scholarships awarded to CFAM students working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Scholarships are offered to juniors and/or seniors for Studio Art, Art History, and Art Education students. Winners are identified by the faculty of the UNO College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media.
A scholarship is also presented to the student who wins the annual juried Student Art Show. Internships may also be available through Friends of Art – speak to Art & Art History faculty members for more information.
