UNO Print Workshop
The UNO Print Workshop was established in 1976 to conduct research and teach collaborative printmaking within the academic environment of the Department of Art and Art History of the University of Nebraska Omaha. Artists are invited for a residency as part of the Visiting Artists Program to work with the faculty and students to produce an edition of multiples or series of monotypes/monoprints.
During the residency, the artist can either work with the workshop to produce an edition or series or to make a proof that will be editioned at a later time. UNO Students with printmaking experience may be asked to join the artist. The workshop occurs approximately twice a year.
The workshop has facilities to print relief, intaglio and lithography. Equipment for photographic processes includes halide exposure units and computer facilities for imaging. Epson wide format and photo printers are available for digital printing. The prints are housed in a digital format.
Today the workshop has published prints with artists from every region of the United States and several other countries. The collection represents one of the most significant bodies of work produced in Nebraska and includes artists from very diverse backgrounds and aesthetic philosophies.

Abattoir Editions
Abattoir Editions was the fine press (letterpress) publishing imprint founded by noted printer and publisher Harry Duncan at UNO in 1972. Abattoir Editions published mostly poetry and served as a way to teach printing, the history of the book, and related book arts.
Work from Abattoir Editions can be found in the Fine Arts Press Collection in the UNO Criss Library’s Archives and Special Collections.
