We can find art in odd places: the smell of grass, a buttefly's wings, the pollen on a friendly bumblebee, or a lone flower growing from the cracks in a sidewalk.
The students in the UNO Art Club want to help us find more.
UNO Art Club hosted a one-day event to create paper pulp seed bombs, outside the Weber Fine Arts Building in the Castle of Perseverance.
Seed bombs (or seed balls) are small clusters of paper pulp packed with native wildflower seeds, designed to bring greenery and colorful pollinator habitats to urban landscapes. Members of the UNO community were invited to create and take their own seed balls to sow new life elsewhere.
Giving native flora like wildflowers a chance to blossom in places where there is nothing creates a chance for bees, butterflies, and lovers of nature to thrive.
When the event finished, the remaining seed paper bombs were gathered together and collected in a place for other students to freely take and spread throughout the community.
Seed paper will also play a role in the Art Ritual to Cleanse Fears, which involves several members of the UNO Art Club.
