Biography
Dr. Adam Rosen is an Associate Professor in the School of Health and Kinesiology and Director of the Athletic Training Program. He earned a BS in athletic training and MS in Exercise Science from the University of Delaware. He received his PhD in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics and Athletic Training from the University of Georgia. Prior to his doctorate, he worked clinically at the University of Delaware and as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Pennsylvania with primary responsibilities of baseball and men’s soccer. His research interests include lower extremity biomechanics and evidence-based sports medicine practices, specifically regarding chronic ankle instability and patellar tendinopathy. He also co-directs the Omaha Sports Medicine Laboratory and the Biomechanics Pitching Lab.
Teaching Interests
Dr. Rosen teaches courses related to Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. Courses he has taught recently include ATHT 8110 Emergency Management of Injury and Illness, ATHT 8130 Therapeutic Interventions I, ATHT 8340 Orthopedic Assessment II, KINS 8320 Evidence Based Sports Medicine, ATHT 8540 Orthopedic Assessment III, KINS 8970 Topics in Sports Medicine, and KINS 9300 Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis.
Research Interests
Dr. Rosen's primary research interests include biomechanics, chronic ankle instability, patellar tendinopathy, evidence based sports medicine, as well as systematic-reviews and meta-analyses.
Service Summary
Dr. Rosen serves as the program director and graduate program chair for the Athletic Training program. He has sat on a number of committees at the department, college, and university level. In addition he provides service to the athletic training profession at the local, state, regional, and national levels through work on a variety of committees and positions.
