Dr. Nick Stergiou Inducted into Medical and Biological Engineering Elite

Dr. Stergiou was formally inducted into the prestigious College of Fellows on Monday at AIMBE's annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

Nick Stergiou, Ph.D., Distinguished Community Research Chair in Biomechanics and director of UNO's Biomechanics Research Building, was recently elected to the prestigious American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows, Class of 2017. Dr. Stergiou was formally inducted Monday—along with 145 colleagues—during AIMBE's annual meeting at the National Academy of Sciences Great Hall in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Stergiou was elected by his peers for his outstanding professional and public service accomplishments, including contributions to the application of nonlinear analysis to the study of human movement and the promotion of biomechanics.

The AIMBE College of Fellows is comprised of the most accomplished and distinguished engineering and medical school chairs, research directors, professors, innovators, and successful entrepreneurs, making up the top 2% of medical and biological engineers in the country.

AIMBE is a non-profit organization, providing leadership and advocacy in medical and biological engineering for the benefit of society.
