Jeff Kaipust Receives UNO's Employee of the Year Award
Omaha – Jeff Kaipust, Building Coordinator for the Biomechanics Research Building, was recently honored at the Faculty Senate/Staff Advisory Council Recognition Banquet with UNO's Employee of the Year Award. The banquet was held April 26 in the MBSC Ballroom. The event is held each year to honor faculty and staff members for their service to UNO.
UNO employs over 4,500 faculty, staff, and students.
The Employee of the Year is selected by the Chancellor from the twelve Employees of the Month in the previous calendar year (January - December). The criteria for the award are going above and beyond expectations, interpersonal skills and communication, knowledge of job, and adaptability. Jeff was recognized as Employee of the Month in March 2016.
Jeff, a 7-year employee, was nominated by his peers for his hard work and dedication to the university. One colleague explains, "Jeff genuinely cares about each person who works in and visits the Biomechanics Research Building. When conflict resolution is needed, Jeff is a great mediator. He is a very dedicated employee and is well respected by faculty, staff, and students."
This is a well-deserved award, but Jeff refuses to take all the credit. "I feel extremely grateful to be recognized as employee of the year, although I do not feel I am deserving of such an award. I personally think this award reflects the work performed by all staff in our department."
