A new resource is available to connect members of the Omaha community with support and resources in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Resource Guide, which includes information about access to food and goods, social connections, and health resources, is available digitally via the Huespring website. The guide includes services and resources available throughout the Omaha community for anyone in need, though some resources require certain eligibility criteria to be met.
The guide was compiled and published by Huespring, an innovative leadership program for LGBTQ+ professionals in Nebraska housed within UNO’s College of Education. Aligned with its core value of community capacity building, Huespring released this resource guide to support the community in these challenging times.
"We want people to know that support is available," said Dr. Sofia Jawed-Wessel, Huespring director and associate professor in UNO's School of Health & Kinesiology. "The structure of Huespring has adapted in response to this pandemic, yet the goal has always been and will continue to be to support our constituents and communities in Nebraska."
Updates will be published as additional supportive resources and services are identified to support those in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
