How do I apply?
- Log in to MavLINK.
- On left side, click on Financial Aid.
- Click on Apply for Scholarships and you will be directed to the General Application.
- Complete and submit the General Application Questions for university-wide scholarships and the College of IS&T specific essay questions. This will serve as your application for available College of IS&T scholarships.
***The deadline to apply for scholarships for the upcoming academic year is Mar 1, 2025***
What will I need to submit as part of the application?
- A resume showing commitment to your community and school through volunteer service and extracurricular activities.
- Responses to two brief essays in response to the questions below:
- The College of IS&T’s values are central to our mission. They are (1) Create Community, (2) Inspire Diverse Voices, (3) Shape the Future, and (4) Teach Leadership. Please discuss how your academic and personal goals align with at least two of these values. Your response to this question should be approximately 500 words.
- How will receiving a scholarship support your ability to get the most out of your UNO experience? Your response to this question should be approximately 500 words.
- Indicate which of the following IS&T-affiliated student organizations you have actively participated in during your time at UNO (check all that apply):

I've submitted my application. What's next?
The College of IS&T committee will review applications and decision mid-April. Scholarship offers will be sent out and must be accepted in MavLINK by the end of June.

Scholarships
ACI Worldwide Scholarship
Description: Open to undergraduate Computer Science and Management Information Systems majors with junior class standing and a GPA of 3.0 or above. Preference given to residents of Douglas or Sarpy counties in Nebraska and those who contribute to extracurricular activities related to their field of study.
Award: *Approx. $1,000/year. Non-renewable.
CenturyLink Scholarship
Description: Open to all IS&T undergraduate majors. Current students must have a 2.5 GPA or better, and incoming first year students must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or better. Preference to those with demonstrated community involvement and/or financial need.
Award: *Approx. $1,500/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
David and Linda Hinton IS&T Scholarship
Description: All current and incoming IS&T undergraduates are eligible. Preference towards those with financial need.
Award: At least $500/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Donald C. Reichart Memorial Scholarship
Description: Incoming first year Computer Science undergrads who have a high school GPA of 3.0 or better, graduated from a Nebraska high school, and are legal US residents are eligible.
Award: *Approx. $1,000/year. Renewable with a continued 3.0 UNO GPA.
FirsTier Banks Fund for the College of Information Science & Technology Scholarships
Description: All IS&T undergraduates are eligible. Preference toward those with financial need.
Award: *Approx. $6,500/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
First National Bank of Omaha Information Science and Technology Scholarship
Description: All IS&T undergraduates are eligible. Recpient must have demonstrated financial need.
Award: Amount varies. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Fiserv, Inc. UNO Information Science and Technology Scholarship
Description: Incoming first year IS&T undergrad majors who have a 3.5 or better high school GPA and composite ACT of 25 or better are eligible. Preference toward those with demonstrated leadership and extracurricular involvement.
Award: At least $1,500/year. Renewable for up to three years with maintained GPA of 3.25 or better.
IS&T Advantage Scholarship
Description: Open to non-Nebraska residents and helps offset part of the difference between in and out of state tuition. Graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
Award: Subject to availability of funds, amount varies based on actual course enrollments. Renewable with a continued 3.2 cumulative GPA.
Jean Hartranft Holtmann Scholarship Fund
Description: Open to undergrad IS&T students with junior or senior standing who have either previous or active engagement in Women in IT mentoring program.
Award: *Approx. $1,000/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Jeffrey Craig Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund
Description: Open to undergrad computer science majors with junior or senior standing, who are deserving of financial need and demonstrate potential for a successful career in CS.
Award: *Approx. $1,500/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
John Patrick Nicholson IS&T Memorial Scholarship
Description: Open to undergrad or graduate IT Innovation majors who are US citizens or permanent residents. Undergrads must have sophomore, junior, or senior standing with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Award: *Approx. $1,000/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Michael C. Mulder Founding Dean's Memorial Scholarship Fund
Description: All IS&T undergraduates are eligible. Preference toward those with financial need.
Award: *Approx. $1,000/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Mutual of Omaha IS&T Scholarship Fund
Description: All full-time IS&T undergraduates are eligible. Preference toward those with financial need.
Award: *Approx. $5,000/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
OASIS: Opportunity and Access Scholarship for IT Students
Description: All IS&T undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Preference toward those with financial need.
Award: *Varies. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Quantum Workplace Scholarship
Description: Undergraduate computer science majors with first year or sophomore standing are eligible. Preference given to members of the ACM-W student group.
Award: $2,000/year. Non-renewable.
Randolph A. Walling, Sr., Scholarship Fund
Description: Open to an incoming or current undergrad in IS&T who graduated from a high school in one of NE, SD, IA, MO, KS, CO, or WY. Preference given to those with financial need.
Award: *Approx. $5,000/year. Renewable with satisfactory academic standing.
Richard M. Goldstein Scholarship
Description: Open to IS&T student with junior, senior, or graduate standing. Preference given to first generation students and those with financial need.
Award: *Approx. $2,000/year. Renewable with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
UNO IS&T Student Scholarship Fund
Description: All IS&T undergraduates are eligible. Preference toward those with financial need.
