Hello, future EMIT students! We welcome students from all walks of life. We ask that incoming students have an undergraduate degree, at least four years of full-time relevant IT experience. Exceptions may be made for less experience through strong recommendations from employers.
Please note: we are not accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year
Application Checklist
A completed Application for Graduate Admission that includes the following:
- An official transcript of the last degree completed.
- A signed sponsorship letter from an authorized representative of your organization, briefly stating the terms of support (keeping travel time to a minimum, understanding that they release you from job responsibilities on class days, funding for tuition, etc.). Independent professionals or consultants and applicants who head their own firms are eligible, though these applicants will have to write their own sponsorship letters.
- A two-page resume (maximum).
- One short answer question and two essays are required. The short answer question will explore your post-EMIT professional goals, while the essays will focus on your current professional path and how the EMIT degree will help you achieve them, as well as how you plan on balancing the daily demands of work, life, and school.
- An interview (by invitation only).
International Applicants
International students are welcome to apply. Students will need to commit to the program as outlined. However, if you do not have a degree from an institution in which all instruction is conducted in English, you must take either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Pearson Test of English (PTE).
You may be exempted from the TOEFL or IELTS or PTE only if you have earned a degree from an institution in which English is the language of instruction. We will not accept requests for exceptions to this policy.
- The TOEFL or IELTS scores are valid for two years. Your TOEFL or IELTS score must be valid when you submit your application.
- Be sure to self-report your TOEFL score when completing your application. If admitted, you must submit an official score report.
