The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of minorities in all aviation and aerospace careers. This is accomplished through networking, mentorship, and professional development in effort to enhance career advancement. Additionally, they aim to bolster cognizance of aviation within the UNO and Omaha communities. Data shows that the industry is not as diverse as the general population or U.S. workforce. UNOBAP yearns to change that narrative via increasing minority participation in the industry recruitment and retention efforts.
