Jerry is an expert on trends and small-area data for the state. He has published numerous articles which analyze data for the state, including economic projections for the state and population projections for the state, counties, and other sub-areas. He was a long-standing member of the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board, serving as chair in 2018. Jerry led the university's efforts to assist the Legislature's Planning Committee since the inception of the committee in 2009. Jerry worked for CPAR from 1987 to 2018, when he retired as director and was named director emeritus.
