Mr. Yocum is the former sheriff of Seward County, a position he was elected to in 1999 and was re-elected to several times. He has also worked as a sergeant and as a deputy sheriff for Seward County prior to becoming sheriff.
Mr. Yocum's law enforcement career started in the mid-1980s when he was hired as a police officer for the Milford Police Department. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nebraska Sheriff's Association, the Police Officer's Association of Nebraska, and the FBI National Academy Association.
