Biography
Lindsay Wilkinson received her dual-title PhD in Sociology and Gerontology from Purdue University. Her research and teaching interests focus on aging and the life course, medical sociology, social inequality, and quantitative methods. She was a National Institute on Aging Predoctoral Fellow at Purdue’s Center on Aging and the Life Course. In 2014, she received the Senior Service America Junior Scholar Award for Research Related to Disadvantaged Older Adults, a society-wide award from the Gerontological Society of America.

Research Interests
Dr. Wilkinson's research combines the study of health and aging, focusing on the dynamics of how stratification influences health and how health influences stratification across the life course and among older adults. She is currently investigating the mental and physical health consequences of the Great Recession in middle and later life, the impact of early adversity on long-term health, and dual trajectories of health and poverty over the life course. Her research has appeared in American Sociological Review, The Gerontologist, Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Forces, and Social Science & Medicine among others.
