As a researcher, I am focused on modifiable health behaviors & their effects on later life. My final dissertation focuses on food choices, body image, & perceptual accuracy in adults. I am enthusiastic about cultural competency & strive to embed this principle in my work. My passion for translational science informs my professional goal: to explore the needs & preferences of underserved groups & contribute to the development of resources, informed by individual & community experiences. I enjoy teaching, & my philosophy is to empower learners with real-world knowledge that can be applied both in and out of classroom environments. My teaching goal is to advance the next generation of thinkers by encouraging critical discussions in safe spaces & fostering opportunities for development, innovation, & change.Education
