Foster Grandparent Program -Program Specialist at ENOA
Essential Job Functions:
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing and be able to establish effective working relationships with senior citizens, staff and the general public.
- Be a strong team player with positive attitude toward working with staff and with clients and their formal and informal support systems.
- Assess the needs of volunteer stations to determine appropriate placement of volunteers and facilitate necessary paperwork for placement.
- Supervision of volunteers after placement in concurrence with the Corporation for National and Community Services and FGP policies.
- With cooperation of site staff, handle volunteer issues/concerns.
- Visit volunteer sites to evaluate volunteers’ performance and ensure volunteer sites are in compliance with the Corporation for National and Community Service guidelines.
- Collect data for performance measures for end of year grant reports.
- Collect volunteer assignment plans on each child served.
- Document essential information on volunteers to facilitate and provide guidance to the volunteers under the direction of the FGP Coordinator.
- Maintain volunteer, station (including work agreements, role description and memorandum of understanding) and program files.
- Maintain accurate records & volunteer database
- Attend advisory council meetings and take minutes as needed.

Responsible for determining and monitoring the appropriate long term care needs of financially eligible disabled adult and those over the age of 65 who are requesting or receiving assistance through home and community based services. Responsible for coordinating home and community based services to eligible participants by identifying their strengths and needs and incorporating formal and informal supports through a participant-centered approach to service planning and delivery. Responsible for completion of a comprehensive assessment to identify client strengths and needs. Responsible for providing participants with choices for safe independent living options and consumer-directed services that are cost efficient.
