Grace Abbott Training and Supervision Academy (GATSA) empowers social workers, mental health professionals, students, and alumni through accessible, high-quality education, supervision, and collaboration, fostering growth and innovation to meet the evolving needs of communities.
Since its inception in 2018, the Grace Abbott Training and Supervision Academy (GATSA) has been a cornerstone for continuing education and professional development for social workers and mental health professionals in Nebraska, Iowa, and beyond. Born from the Grace Abbott School of Social Work's (GASSW) commitment to supporting behavioral health practitioners and alumni, GATSA has grown steadily, expanding its reach and offerings to meet the evolving needs of the workforce and the community it serves.
Today, GATSA continues to provide accessible and affordable opportunities for professional growth. Our services include high-quality in-person, live, and on-demand continuing education programs, supervision for provisionally licensed mental health professionals, group and individual consultation for fully licensed practitioners, and preparation for the ASWB clinical social work licensure exam. These offerings are tailored to empower professionals at every stage of their career and who want to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Collaboration lies at the heart of GATSA’s mission. We work closely with the NU system, community partners, and subject matter experts to create relevant, evidence-based programming that supports diverse practice areas, including mental health, cultural literacy, addiction, and family services. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion shapes every aspect of our work, as we strive to remove barriers and elevate the profession of social work and mental health practice.
As GATSA looks to the future, our vision remains grounded in growth, inclusivity, and innovation. We are dedicated to strengthening our partnerships, expanding our offerings, and enhancing access to education and support for behavioral health professionals across urban and rural communities. Together, we are shaping the future of social work and mental health practice, ensuring the professionals who serve our most vulnerable populations are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive.
