Alumni Update
Since 2006, I have been a full time employee in the Research Division of Omaha Public Schools (OPS) focusing on data analysis, facility planning and student assignment planning. My initial role in OPS was as the GIS Specialist, a position that resulted from an internship during my undergraduate studies in geography at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).
In 2010, I returned to UNO to work on a masters degree in urban studies. The focus of the School of Public Administration and the Urban Studies program have aligned well to my roles in a large urban school district.
Currently, I am a staff assistant in the Research Division of OPS with almost 15 years of experience in the district. I continue to use my GIS, database and public administration experience on a variety of district level projects. I routinely report and discuss information to large groups of administrators and an elected board of education. I work with various public and private stakeholders to support school district operations and initiatives. I am interested in using strong analytical and communication skills to problem solve and analyze current or future conditions in Omaha.
