Dr. Becky Lutte is an Associate Professor for the Aviation Institute. Her degrees include a B.S. Professional Aeronautics, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University: MPA with an Aviation Minor, University of Nebraska at Omaha: and a Ph.D., Public Administration, Aviation Specialization, University of Nebraska at Omaha.
A former regional airline pilot, Professor Lutte is a commercial pilot, CFII, and MEI. In addition, Becky Lutte is an aircraft owner of a homebuilt RV-7 and RV-10, and is active in general aviation.
Based in Texas, Professor Lutte specializes in online course development and delivery. Courses taught include graduate and undergraduate courses in both public administration and aviation.
Her research interests are in the areas of aviation safety policy, aviation workforce development/pilot supply, and outreach, recruitment, and retention of women in aviation.
She also serves as a board member and/or on committees for several aviation organizations, including University Aviation Association Board of Trustees. Dr. Lutte serves an appointed member of the Department of Transportation Women in Aviation Advisory Board (WIAAB) and is chair of the WIAAB Understanding the Problem and Industry Trends subcommittee.
