General Information
Biography
Dr. Bartle enjoys traveling, reading, rugby, and baseball. He lives in Omaha with his family.
Teaching Interests
Public Financial Management, Public Budgeting, Public Sector Economics, Public Policy Analysis and Evaluation.
Research Interests
Dr. Bartle's research is focused on public financial policy and management, budgeting, transportation, and state and local government. He has published over 70 articles. He is the editor of the book, Evolving Theories of Public Budgeting (2001), co-author of Sustainable Development for Public Administration (2009), co-editor of Management Policies in Local Government Finance (2012), and co-author of Innovative Infrastructure Finance: A Guide for State and Local Governments (2022). He is currently involved in research on equity in public budgeting, and transportation finance.
Service Summary
Dr. Bartle is President-Elect of the American Society of Public Administration, and an elected fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.
